Janet Guthrie – Jaguar XK-120 – $70K

Janet Guthrie is best known as the first-ever female racing car driver to have competed in the Daytona 500. While she didn’t always start as wanting to become a race car driver, she soon steered away from her initial study of engineering to put her heart and soul into NASCAR. It is no wonder that Janet would purchase a luxury vehicle such as the Jaguar XK-120. It was the very first vehicle she had ever bought and was followed by a Jaguar XK – 140 that contributed to one of her race winnings.

Janet built her own engine, did the bodywork independently, and frequently slept in the car overnight. She started racing on a full-time basis in 1972, and in 1976, she became the first woman to participate in a NASCAR Winston Cup Superspeedway race in the 1976 World 600. We hope she has invested in a good home security system to protect her assets.
