Cathrine O’Hara is one of the best actresses to have come out of Canada. Throughout her career, she has been credited with tons of accolades, some of which include two Primetime Emmys, a Golden Globe, and six Canadian Screen Awards. Her rise to fame began back in 1974 as a comedian. Shortly after she appeared in the sitcom Coming Up Rosie alongside the likes of Dan Aykroyd and John Candy. Simultaneously, she and Candy would propel their careers with their critically-acclaimed sketch show, Second City Television.
More than being just a TV star, O’Hara has starred in dozens of films. Some of her iconic roles came from her works with director Tim Burton. These include movies such as Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Frankenweenie. However, to some, she is best known as the mother of Kevin in the Home Alone films, and now at 67 years old, she continues her exceptional work in the industry. Donald Sutherland is a veteran of the industry whose illustrious resume spans over 55 years. Needless to say, he has been credited with several accolades, including eight Golden Globe nominations. Among which he won two for his performances in Path to Ward and Citizen X. Tons of critics believe that he is amongst the criminally underrated actors who have yet to win an Academy Award. However, he did receive an Academy Honorary Award for his immense contributions to cinema.
The Canadian actor rose to fame during the late ’60s and throughout the ’70s. His long list of films includes The Dirty Dozen, Kelly’s Heroes, Don’t Look Now, The Eagle Has Landed, and Ordinary People. Later on in his career, the younger generation would recognize him in blockbusters such as The Italian Job, Pride & Prejudice, and The Hunger Games franchise. Today Sutherland is 86 years old and he has a couple of films in the pipeline, which are Moonfall and Mr. Harrigan’s Phone.
