Megan Rapinoe & Sue Bird

Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe are the epitome of the modern sports power couple. Rapinoe is a World Cup winner with the United States Women’s National Team,and Bird is a five-time Olympic gold medalist. They have used their prominent degrees to campaign for racial equality and LGBTQ+ rights,among other things. They’ve also faced and defeated a former President of the United States. Rapinoe and Bird have given us a slew of #couplegoals moments as well.

They first met at a pre-Olympics news conference,and they became instant friends in Rio de Janeiro. Following the Olympics,they chatted on social media and began dating in the fall of 2016. Despite being in their mid-to-late 30s for most of their partnership,the two have created some of their most significant achievements,including two WNBA championships for Bird and Rapinoe’s spectacular 2019 World Cup performance. They’ve also worked to promote social justice and advance their respective sports.
